Headshot (1)Freedom Denied posthumously tells the story of Jean-Baptiste Edvard Pierre’s ten-year battle for political asylum in the United States, as told by the attorneys and community activists who fought for his freedom. Jean-Baptiste’s dream of freedom for himself and his family will be woven through Freedom Denied by revisiting the story of his life in Haiti, his decision to leave his family behind and his struggle to stay in America. This feature-length film will be presented via film festivals, community screenings and will seek theatrical release. SBMA funding provided for archival photos/video licensing and fee for research assistant.  teaspoonandpoundmedia.com
